Guwahati, July 30, 2019:

Masor Petu is an Assamese delicacy cooked out of fish intestines, and cooked rice. Masor Petuis one of the integral dish of the Assamese thali.

Ingredients:

100 gm of fresh and cleaned petu of any kind of big river fish (Rohu and Catla are preferred)

1 cup cooked rice

1/2 tsp Soda (Sodium bicarbonate)

2-3 Garlic cloves

1-2 green chilli.

1 medium chopped onion

Fresh coriander leaves

2 tbs Mustard Oil

Salt (as per your taste)

  • Method:
  • Rub petu with little bit salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped garlic cloves, onion and green chillies in hot oil.
  • Fry all ingredients till brown.
  • Now add the petu (intestines), salt, soda and fry for few minutes.
  • Add cooked rice and mixed it well.
  • Cooked them until done
  • Add coriander leaves for garnishing and serve it hot with rice.
