Mizoram ready for a peaceful electoral process: Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati

Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, addressed the media regarding the state's readiness for the upcoming single-phase Lok Sabha polls scheduled for April 19.

He highlighted Mizoram's reputation as a profoundly peaceful state, where election processes typically unfold without disturbances.

Governor Kambhampati commended the disciplined nature of the people and their enthusiastic participation in the democratic process, noting that voter turnout often exceeds 80%.

In his appeal to all voters, including those participating for the first time, he urged them to exercise their voting rights on April 19. Kambhampati assured the public that the Mizoram Police force is diligently implementing measures to ensure a peaceful voting environment.

Additionally, efforts are being made to combat drug smuggling into the state, with the police taking proactive steps to intercept illegal substances.
