Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 4 reiterated that in the 2023 assembly election, BJP would win more seats than in the 2018 poll.

Sarma said this after he completed a door-to-door campaign for the 6-Agartala BJP candidate Papia Dutta.

“I am confident that in the 2023 Assembly election, BJP will win more seats than the 2018 Assembly election in Tripura. What I am observing is that the wave is nice, and people’s will towards BJP is also good. They also love PM Modi which eventually indicates that BJP will win in more seats than the 2018 election in Tripura”, said Assam CM.

On seat sharing of CPIM and Congress, Himanta claimed that workers of CPIM will not cast votes for Congress and similar things will happen with CPIM. And so both the party is at zero.

He however alleged that Congress candidate for 6-Agartala assembly constituency Sudip Roy Barman has miserably failed to work for his area while Sarma believes that Papia Datta will work very nicely as she is young, energetic has a good image and respect in the party.
