1,218 polling stations in focus as teams move out with EVMs in Kamrup Metro
Polling parties carrying Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and election materials were dispatched across five Assembly constituencies in Kamrup Metropolitan district on Tuesday as preparations intensified ahead of polling.
District Commissioner Swapneel Paul said the Kamrup Metro election district has a total of 1,218 polling stations. A centralised dispatch and receipt centre has been set up at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre to facilitate the smooth distribution of election materials across all five Legislative Assembly Constituencies.
He added that more than 10,000 personnel have been deployed for the election process, ensuring efficient coordination and management at every level. Security has also been strengthened, with police personnel accompanying each polling team to maintain law and order.
Officials expressed confidence that the arrangements will ensure a smooth, secure, and transparent polling process in the district.
