Arunachal: Commuters stranded at Yapak Check Gate amidst central armed forces' election checks

Citizens traveling between KraDaadi and LowerSubansiri districts find themselves trapped at the Yapak Check Gate. The cause? Rigorous vehicle inspections by the central Armed Forces, deployed for election duty, have brought traffic to a standstill, leaving commuters stranded and exasperated.

The Yapak Check Gate, typically a transit point for smooth passage between the two districts, has become a bottleneck due to the stringent security measures implemented by the Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, in Arunachal Pradesh,  Chief Minister Pema Khandu exercised his franchise at the polling station of Govt Secondary School Bomba in the Tawang constituency on April 19. Notably, Khandu had received his schooling from this very institution.

Addressing the media after casting his vote, Khandu expressed confidence in the BJP government, stating that his interactions with constituents across various constituencies had revealed satisfaction with the administration. He highlighted the progress brought about in Arunachal Pradesh under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, indicating widespread support for the ruling party.

"In the Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections, 10 seats have already been secured uncontested, leaving 50 seats up for polling," Khandu stated. He expressed optimism, asserting that the BJP is poised to secure victory in all 60 seats.
