Assam Lok Sabha elections 2024: BTR chief slams BPF's Hagrama Mohilary, says he is autocratic

Assam Lok Sabha elections 2024: BTR chief slams BPF's Hagrama Mohilary, says he is autocratic

The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief Pramod Boro criticized  Bodoland People's Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary during a visit to Chirang today.

Boro accused Mohilary of autocratic leadership within the party, contrasting it with his own commitment to democratic principles.

"I'm not a Hagrama. Hagrama runs a party like a king. I run the party with a democratic tradition. Taking everyone's opinion," Boro asserted.

Boro further criticized Mohilary's approach to governance, alleging a lack of foresight and planning. "Hagrama is holding meetings where only the election has to be won. But the future cannot be won in an election without planning," he emphasized.

Boro pointed out, "Hagrama's party No one votes after the elections this time. The plough will disappear."

In a jab at Mohilary's lifestyle changes, Boro remarked, "Nowadays, Hagrama Mohilary travels in his Maruti car, leaving his luxury cars. I don't understand what he means. Maybe he knows that he will never come to power so he is used to driving Maruti cars."

The verbal clash between the two leaders is setting the stage for a heated electoral battle in the near future.
