Assam Lok Sabha elections 2024: Congress Candidate Rosalina Tirkey critiques BJP's advertising tactics

Congress candidate Rosalina Tirkey is running from the Kaliabor constituency under Kaziranga Lok Sabha.

Addressing the media she said that she took a different approach to campaigning. Instead of relying on advertisements like her opponents, Tirkey has prioritized direct outreach to the general public. "We don't promote advertisements like the BJP; we have come to the general public," Tirkey affirmed highlighting her commitment to engaging with voters on the ground. 

Setting up election offices in strategic locations such as Misamukh, Halawagaon, Shilghat, Kaliden Tea Estate, and Shalna, Tirkey aims to connect directly with constituents. She says that in contrast to the BJP's campaign strategy of criticizing the Congress, Tirkey emphasizes the need to inform people about developmental work undertaken during her opponents' tenure.

"Society, no matter which government it is, needs peace, and development. All should be able to live in democratic way."

She further addressed the media saying "even people like you, the media, itself have lost their freedom of speech right. The same way if the common masses have to go to jail for raising their voices. At that time people can see a ray of hope through Congress"
