Assam Lok Sabha Elections 2024: UPPL candidate Jayanta Basumatary conducts vibrant campaign rally in Baksa

In a bid to galvanize support ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Jayanta Basumatary, the alliance candidate representing the UPPL party from the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, led a spirited campaign rally at Jalgaon in Baksa.

During the rally, State Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gaura Brahma expressed confidence in Basumatary's candidacy, boldly predicting a sweeping victory. "Jayanta Basumatary will secure a resounding win in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, with a margin of two-and-a-half to three lakh votes," proclaimed Minister Brahma, citing the overwhelming public response received by the alliance candidate.

Taking aim at rival parties, particularly the BPF party, Minister Brahma announced potential defections, asserting that Chandan Brahma's imminent switch to the UPPL would further weaken the BPF's position.

Minister Brahma also dismissed Kokrajhar MP Naba Sarania's candidacy, citing legal constraints, and declared the BPF as the primary opposition. "Our opponent will be the BPF party," he affirmed, signaling a strategic focus on the rival party.

The campaign rally garnered significant attendance, with prominent figures such as BTR councillor Mantu Boro and numerous party leaders and supporters rallying behind Basumatary's candidacy.
