Assam Lok Sabha polls 2024: Massive rally in Margherita boosts campaign for BJP's Sarbananda Sonowal

As the countdown to the fourth upcoming Lok Sabha election enters its final 2 weeks, political activities have surged with all parties embarking on rigorous campaigning. 

In Margherita, the BJP alliance candidate Sarbananda Sonowal was warmly welcomed today with a spectacular motorcycle and vehicle rally, stretching from Powai railway gate to North Margherita Rangamancha. 

"Because of the efforts put forward by us to form the party with the indigenous people of Assam, that is why the development has been happening in Assam", addressed Sonowal.

"Because of the development projects taken by us, keeping in mind about both the rural and urban people, the farmers and various communities residing in Assam, that is why the state Assam has been able to establish a distinct identity in our country India", Sonowal added further.

Over 10,000 enthusiastic BJP supporters, workers, and leaders participated, setting a vibrant tone for the campaign. Following the rally, a crucial meeting of BJP party workers convened at North Margherita Rangamancha, setting the stage for further strategic discussions. 

The momentum continued with successive grand meetings held at prominent venues including Inthem Auditorium, Udaipur Auditorium, Madhabpur Auditorium, and Ledo Railway Rangamancha. The campaign culminated in a spirited Padyatra, traversing from ward no. 1 to ward no. 10 of the Margherita Municipal Board.

Accompanied by Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma, current Dibrugarh Lok Sabha MP and Union Minister Rameswar Teli, as well as BJP senior leaders such as Bhaben and Sanjay Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal led the charge, rallying support from the masses. 

Sonowal praised Rameshwar Teli and Bhaskar Sarma for implementing the initiatives taken by the central government and Assam government, successfully into reality among its people.

Sonowal spoke to the media saying, "during the reign of BJP government they have seen a lot of development and change and that is why the enthusiasm and trust of the people of Margherita people have on us, because of that only they have gathered today. They have come to show gratitude to the works done by Bhaskar Sarma, and Rameshwar Teli from far off places during amidst bad weather".
