Assam: Nalbari students encourage voter participation in Sanskrit

As the Third Phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 draws near, the District Administration of Nalbari has been actively engaged in raising awareness through Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiatives, focusing on bridging the gender gap in voting participation.

Building on the success of the Pink SVEEP initiative, students from Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University in Nalbari have taken a unique approach to advocate for voter participation. They have created a captivating reel in Sanskrit, urging every Indian citizen to exercise their constitutional right to vote. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with SVEEP Nalbari under the guidance of the District Election Officer, aims to encourage maximum voter turnout and promote public engagement in the democratic process.

The administration's efforts extend beyond university collaborations. Various activities such as workshops, seminars, and social media campaigns have been organized to educate citizens about the electoral process, voter registration, and the importance of voting. These initiatives target diverse demographics, reaching out to people from different backgrounds to emphasize the significance of participating in the electoral process.

Additionally, special efforts have been made to cater to specific groups. Young voters have been engaged through reels created by young sportspersons, including players who are of voting age. Furthermore, a special reel in Sign language has been designed for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) voters, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in voter awareness campaigns.

With these multifaceted initiatives, the District Administration of Nalbari is actively rallying citizens from all walks of life to exercise their right to vote on Election Day. These efforts not only promote democratic values but also strengthen the democratic fabric by encouraging active participation in the electoral process.
