Jayanta Basumatary, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from the No. 1 Kokrajhar Tribal Lok Sabha constituency, filed his nomination papers amidst a massive show of support from his followers, today.
Accompanied by a procession of approximately 15,000 supporters from Bodofa town, Basumatary arrived at the Kokrajhar District Commissioner's office to submit his nomination papers to the Returning Officer.
The rally included prominent political figures such as Minister Chandra Mohan Patwari, Assam Gana Parishad General Secretary Ramendra Kalita, MLAs Lawrence Islari, Gautam Das, Arup Kumar Dey, along with several leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Jayanta Basumatary expressed confidence in the NDA's prospects in the Kokrajhar constituency. He emphasized the unity and support demonstrated by the massive turnout of supporters, signaling a strong backing for his candidacy..
