Former Lakhimpur SP Anand Mishra begins electrifying poll campaign in Bihar's Buxar for LS Polls

Anand Mishra, the former Superintendent of Police (SP) of Assam’s Lakhimpur district has been campaigning wholeheartedly as an independent candidate in the Buxar district of Bihar.

The Lok Sabha general elections in Buxar will be held on June 1, phase 7.

Campaigning in Buxar on his bike, Mishra informed that he traveled through many villages and Gram Panchayats, where he met people of various ages along the way. He said that he observed a lot of enthusiasm amongst the lot and interacted with them personally. Mishra also mentioned that connecting with people in person has a different charm and is convenient, especially since he was traveling by a two-wheeler.

Mishra, who hails from Bihar had stepped down from his position of Lakhimpur’s SP in January this year, opting instead for a life committed to social service and personal autonomy. In his resignation letter to the Chief Secretary of Assam Government, he had expressed his desire to work for the betterment of Bihar citizens and explore personal and social aspirations.

The former SP of Lakhimpur had earlier shared another video seeking promotion of religious tourism in the district, emphasising its significance comparable to Ayodhya. Mishra added that Buxar needs to establish its identity based on its rich religious heritage. He noted that the charm of attracting tourism is currently missing but could be achieved through strong political influence and administrative measures.
