Karbi Anglong polls: Voting delayed by an hour at two booths, voters face chaos

Polling was delayed by nearly an hour at two polling stations under the 109-Howraghat Assembly constituency in Karbi Anglong on Thursday morning, causing inconvenience to voters.

According to reports, voting at the Rashtra Bhasha ME School polling station in Pub-Silputa (Chauhan Basti), Bakuliaghat, and another booth could only begin around 8 a.m., instead of the scheduled 7 a.m.

The delay led to chaos at the polling stations, with long queues forming as voters who had arrived early were forced to wait outside. Several residents expressed frustration, stating that the late start disrupted their schedules and created confusion during the initial hours of polling.

Authorities are yet to clarify the reason behind the delay.
