Tripura Lok Sabha elections 2024: BSF ensures smooth voting process for Indian residents ahead of fencing in Sepahijala

In Sepahijala, Tripura, the Border Security Force (BSF) is implementing measures to facilitate the voting process for Indian residents living ahead of fencing along the border. Commandant of the 150 Battalion, Iswar Chandra Kumar, highlighted the security interventions and special arrangements in place for the upcoming elections.

"During elections, security interventions are carried out to keep a check on anti-social activities and infiltration in the borders," stated Commandant Iswar Chandra Kumar. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security during electoral processes.

The BSF has adopted different strategies for day and night operations to ensure a peaceful election environment. Gates have been installed for the movement of villagers living ahead of the fencing, allowing for free movement during specific time frames. On the day of the polls, these gates will remain open to facilitate voters' access to polling stations.

Additionally, the BSF has launched a special awareness drive to educate the population living on the border about the electoral process and the importance of voting. This initiative aims to ensure maximum participation and awareness among residents.
