Twenty-year-old Suman Rao from Rajasthan was crowned as the Femina Miss India 2019 in a star-studded ceremony which was held at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Indoor stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
Miss India 2018, Anukreethy Vas from Tamil Nadu crowned her successor. Meenakshi Chaudhary of Haryana crowned Shivani Jadhav of Chhattisgarh as Femina Miss Grand India 2019. Gayatri Bhardwaj of New Delhi crowned Shreya Shanker of Bihar as Miss United Continents India 2019. Shreya Rao Kamavarapu of Andhra Pradesh crowned Sanjana Vij of Telangana as Runner-Up at the end of the event.
It may be mentioned that twenty-year-old Suman Rao, a college student, will represent India at Miss World 2019 in Thailand in December this year.
After winning the prestigious title, she said: "When you get yourself determined towards a particular goal in life, every single nerve and fibre of your body starts working into that direction for a victorious journey."
High-profile stars like Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal enthralled audiences during the star-studded event.
The event was compered by film director Karan Johar and Manish Paul.
The event was adjudged by Bollywood choreographer Remo D’Souza alongside actors Huma Qureshi, Chitrangada Singh, fashion designer Falguni Shane Peacocka and Indian footballer Sunil Chhetri, among others.
