2nd Nagaland Film Festival Underway in KohimaNagaland Film

Kohima, November 1, 2019:

The 2nd Nagaland Film Festival is underway at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima from 31st October 2019.

The two-day event is being organized by the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Nagaland, and Film Association of Nagaland (FAN).

Toshi Wungtung, Advisor, said the film industry will help the north-east states in connecting with the mainland as well as the rest of the world.

Head- FFO, NFDC, Ministry of I&B Govt. of India, Vikramjit Roy assured that the Ministry will work for the development of the Nagaland film industry.

President of FAN, Kivini Shohe implied the main objective of FAN which is to help the filmmakers grow skillfully and bring a consciousness of cinema among the people.

As many as 28 films have entered the competition and another 28 in the non-competition category in the film festival.

Apart from screening films, the festival featured master class, panel discussion, and awards.

On day one, the festival screened “Aamis" (Fiction)- Assam, “Under the Longpfurr Sky” (Documentary)- Nagaland, Ma’ama (Fiction)- Meghalaya, “Chori” (Documentary)-, “Last Wish” (Fiction)- Mizoram, “40 Years Through The Lenses (Documentary) - Arunachal Pradesh, “Kwtham Kothoma” (Fiction)- Tripura and “Xopunor Xety” (Fiction)- Assam.

On November 1, films that will be screened are “Ima Sabitri" (Documentary)- Manipur, “Protyush" (Drama)- Assam, “Achoubi In Love” ( Documentary)- Manipur, “The Lost Art Of Artisanal Textiles" ( Document0ary)- Nagaland, “Village Rockstars” (Fiction)- Assam, “This Road I Know” (Documentary)- Manipur, “Bairabi- Zophai: Where We Bled For Our Land” (Documentary)- Mizoram, “Mistake” (Drama)- Assam and “Dhokbu” (Action Adventure)- Sikkim.

Presentation of Awards and closing ceremony have been scheduled at 4:30 PM on 1st November, to be attended by Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy.
