The 5th Season of Northeast International Fashion Week is coming to Guwahati again with yet another amazing “Fashion for a Cause” theme. The event will be held on the 18th - 19th January in Guwahati with an opening theme “Fashion for all” to support “Total literacy and employment for all”.
The world’s top designers and aspiring designers head to Guwahati every year to participate in Northeast International Fashion Week to showcase their designs for a good cause. The fashion event has begun to grab attention from all across the world for its social theme as its previous seasons were supporting PETA (People for Ethical Treatment to Animals), Women Empowerment, Eye Donation, and Support Old Age People.
As the 5th Season opening theme is for Fashion for all, apart from professional models, kids and married ladies can also participate in this fashion event. This glitzy event is in collaboration with neighbouring countries and people from different cultures. The two days fashion event will host several renowned fashion designers such as Laxmi Limboo, Goldee Borah, Gayatree Rajbangshi, Moyuri Boruah, Deepa Moni Das, Harapriya Nath, Rina Das, Purnima Lungking, and many more.
The northeast International Fashion Week is an attempt to drive North East’s rich heritage of indigenous crafts and folklore with innovation to a global level. The fashion event is organized by one of the best fashion designers and choreographers of the Northeast region, Prasantt Ghosh, and his Kreative People team.
Prasantt Ghosh who has strengthened the Northeast crafts and heritage in his designs and showcased internationally is all set to take this 5th season to another level. This year’s theme, “Total literacy and employment for all” is to support employment for the youth of the Northeast through fashion. He has already helped thousands of aspiring fashion designers and models to achieve their dream by running a fashion designing and modelling institute in Guwahati, Assam called Assam Art and Designing Institute (AADI). His continuous great effort towards the fashion industry has made him one of the best fashion designers and fashion choreographers in Guwahati.
Prasantt Ghosh has been serving in this fashion industry for the last 20 years and has designed costumes for popular Assamese films like Bukur Majot Jawle, Suren Suror Patek, and Khel. Apart from films, he has also designed costumes for opening and closing ceremonies of National Games held in Assam.
He has worked for various shows in countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and more. He has also been awarded the Best Fashion Choreographer of Northeast - 2011, Lifetime achievement award from the wife of the Governor - 2018, and Northeast Leadership Award - 2015 for his excellent service in the field of Fashion, Textile and Craftsmanship.
