Akshay Kumar’s mother passes away; actor shares heartfelt message

MUMBAI: Actor Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia has passed away this morning, she was admitted to Mumbai’s Hiranandani Hospital on Friday evening, and the actor shared it with a heartfelt message.

Reportedly, her health condition was deteriorating for the past few days. She was admitted into the ICU of the hospital where she took her last breath.

The actor on her demise took to Twitter and wrote, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."

As per reports, Akshay Kumar was in the UK and returned to Mumbai to be with his mom earlier this week. He was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Monday.

However, on Tuesday, the actor had said that it was a ‘tough hour’ for his family and asked fans to pray for his mother.

Later he had tweeted “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.”

According to the reports Akshay was shooting for his upcoming film Cinderella in the UK and had returned to Mumbai on Monday morning to be with his mother, Aruna Bhatia.

The upcoming projects of the actor include Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi with Katrina Kaif, Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re with Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan, Prithviraj with Manushi Chhillar, Bachchan Pandey with Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez, and Raksha Bandhan with Bhumi Pednekar.
