'Aamis', the latest directorial venture by Assam's Bhaskar Hazarika, is coming to cinema screens in Assam, and select Indian cities, on November 22, 2019. This was announced by the acclaimed Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap through social media.
Anurag Kashyap today announced that he is presenting the Assamese film "Aamis" in theaters this November. The filmmaker made this announcement through his official Instagram handle, and made a video appeal to cinephiles to watch Aamis upon its release on November 22, saying "you have not seen anything like Aamis coming out of India."

Reacting to Anurag Kashyap's support, Hazarika told Inside Northeast, "Am most happy and proud that our film has convinced an auteur like Anurag to look North East for original content. His support will go a long way in ensuring a successful release of the film.."
It may be mentioned here that the film will also be screened at the 3rd Guwahati International Film Festival, 2019, for the first time in Assam.

According to the Internet Movie Database, 'Aamis' is about "two chaste lovers bow down to social taboos and repress their feelings, but doing so pushes them towards a horrific crime."

The film, which has already been screened in film festivals across the world, features the actors Lima Das, Arghadeep Baruah, and Neetali Das.
