18-year-old Junnu Pinggam of Mechuka, West Siang district, was declared as the winner of 4th Miss Capital-2018, after a spectacular grand finale staged on 9th June at Nyikum Niya Hall, Nirjuli.
She walked home with a brand new Honda scooty along with cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, besides getting direct entry into the upcoming Miss Arunachal event. Junnu, a 4th semester students from Dera Natung Govt College (Itanagar), is also an ace co player, who, however, wants to become a journalist.
Yangchen Pema of Kalaktang, West Kameng district emerged as 1st runner-up and Tawang’s Jambey Chotten 2nd runner-up, winning cash prizes of Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
Subtitle winners of the event were Desi Hangu Pongu (Miss Popular), Ngurang Anio (Miss Personality), Taba Reemi (Miss Talented), Nabam Asu (Miss Catwalk) and Taba Nayum Niki (Miss Best Costume). All the winners received a sum of Rs 20, 000 each.
The 4th edition of Miss Capital, the beauty pageant started in June 1 this year, which was organized by Arunachal Artistes’ Forum, Capital Complex Unit under the aegis of Miss Arunachal with the main motto of facilitating platforms to the young and talented girls. Miss Junnu Pinggam is daughter of Adi Baane Kebang Youth Wing, President, Aling Pinggam who also holds the record of being a World Champion in Kick-Boxing held in Japan.
