Assamese actress Zerifa Wahid has been nominated for the Best Actor (Female) Award for her performance in the film 'Bhoga Khirkee' in the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), 2019.
The event will be held at Palais Theatre, St Kilda at Melbourne on August 8, 2019.
Zerifa Wahid has been nominated alongside Bollywood actresses Tabu (for 'Andhadhun), Neena Gupta (for 'Badhaai Ho'), Alia Bhatt (for 'Gully Boy'), Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta (for 'Ahaa Re') and Ladakhi actress Jigmeet Dewa Lhamo (for the film 'Chuskit').

'Bhoga Khirkee', written and directed by internationally acclaimed director Jahnu Barua is based on the real-life experiences of a village girl in Upper Assam and is set against the socio-political landscape of the state in 2015.
Apart from Zerifa, actor Seema Biswas, theatre actor Joy Kashyap, and renowned actor Bishnu Khargoriya were part of the film. 'Bhoga Khirkee' was also premiered in the 2018 Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF).
