Assam’s Rima Das chosen as TIFF ambassador

Guwahati, March 30, 2019:

Assam's film making sensation Rima Das of Assam has been chosen as the official ambassador of Toronto International Film Festival’s (TIFF) ‘Share her journey’ initiative.

The initiative was launched by TIFF to increase participation, skills and opportunities for women both behind a, d in front of the camera.

“It's a huge honour to be a ‘Share Her Journey’ ambassador. Through this platform, I would like to bring together voices of people of all genders and collaborate to champion the cause of equality,” Das said.

It may be mentioned that Rima’s film ‘Village Rockstars’ was India’s official ‘Best Foreign Film’ entry at this year’s Oscars. Rima’s second film, ‘Bulbul can Sing’ has also be universally acclaimed by film critics.

The other ambassadors from India include Mira Nair, Deepa Mehta and Priyanka Chopra.
