'Avengers: Endgame' launches in China with thunderous Rs 749 cr on debut day

Beijing, April 24, 2014:

The heavily anticipated 'Avengers: Endgame' has launched in China with an incredible $107.2 USD (equivalent to INR 749 crores) on its very first day.

As of this evening locally, Wednesday estimates are coming in at RMB 530M ($79M) for an opening day of RMB 719M ($107.2M), including midnights. The debut on the Anthony Russo- and Joe Russo-helmed Endgame sets a new all-time record in the market, eclipsing previous champ Monster Hunt 2, reports Deadline.

The film is expected to debut with a figure upwards of $300M in the Middle Kingdom. Word of mouth for the Marvel movie in China is also incredibly strong as it has scored a 9.1 on Chinese reviews aggregator Douban and a 9.3 on Maoyan.

The Anthony and Joe Russo helmed blockbuster will roll into theaters worldwide this weekend. Both India and the US open on Friday.
