MUMBAI: Comedy Queen Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa, who were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday have been granted bail by the magistrate’s court today.
The Mumbai court heard the bail pleas by Bharti Singh and her husband on Monday — a day after the duo were sent to judicial custody till December 4 in drug-related cases.
Earlier yesterday, they were produced before the court and were remanded to judicial custody till December 4.
NCB informed that both Bharti and Harsh have admitted to having consumed ganja. After Harsh was arrested on Sunday, the couple was produced before a magistrate's court on Sunday which remanded them to judicial custody. Soon after the court order, the couple filed bail pleas through advocate Ayaz Khan.

Ayaz Khan, their lawyer, asserted that it was not even the case of the prosecution that they were peddling drugs and hence sought bail, adding that the seized quantity was small and punishment was up to a year.
The law defines up to 1 kg of ganja as a small quantity, and 20 kg and above as a commercial quantity. For small quantities, the punishment could be up to a year’s imprisonment or fine of Rs 10,000, or both. If a person is found with commercial quantities, he can be jailed for 20 years if convicted.
This comes amid investigations into a “drug angle” in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
