Speaking to Inside Northeast on the day of the film's release, Bhaskar Hazarika said, "Very excited about the release of our film in Assam. I hope the film is received well by audiences and as many people as possible watch it!"
The widely-acclaimed Aamis is being screened in select theaters in Assam, as well as select theatres in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, and Shillong . It may be mentioned here that the film will also be screened at the 3rd Guwahati International Film Festival, 2019, for the first time in Assam.
According to the Internet Movie Database, ‘Aamis’ is about “two chaste lovers who bow down to social taboos and repress their feelings, but doing so pushes them towards a horrific crime.”
The film, which has already been screened in film festivals across the world, and in several film fests across India, features the actors Lima Das, Arghadeep Baruah, and Neetali Das.
