BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR PRIYANKA CHOPRA TO PRODUCE ASSAMESE MOVIE

After Punjabi, Marathi and Sikkimese movies, Priyanka Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures is now investing close to Rs 2.8 crore in Jahnu Barua’s film Bhoga Khirikee (Broken Window). The film, starring Zerifa Wahid and Seema Biswas as lead actors, has just finished its shooting schedule in Assam. With a budget of close to Rs 3.5 crore the film is also looking at a national and international release. The film is being co-produced by Easterly Entertainment. Slated for a November-December release the film is shot in Assamese and shall be followed by a dubbed version before its national release. Given Chopra is the state’s Tourism Ambassador, Bhoga Khirkee has got immense help from the government too. Not without a reason though. The government is doing their best to promote Assam in terms of tourism and increase their inbound traffic from both national and international travellers.
