In commemoration of Pranjal Bora’s wonderful musical legacy, his friends presented a sample of the diversity of music that he composed and performed in Australia.
Sandro Ghiotto, the renowned guitarist from Perth Australia opened the event with a short speech about Dr Pranjal Bora's contribution towards
music and how divergent his music was. A selected numbers of Pranjal Bora's music that he composed in different genre were played.
Pranjal’s first contribution to the Perth music scene was his masterful tabla, fused with the flamenco guitar of Tim Andrews and Anthony Lindhjem. Tim and Anthony played live with recorded takes of Pranjal’s tabla.
Pranjal often played tabla with Masonik, the soundscape rich elecctro-acoustic collective with mainstays Baz Psanudakis, Paul Pax Andrews and Wheldon Thornley. Masonik played a special set featuring Pranjal’s tabla playing.
Pranjal was also amazing on the drum kit, a powerhouse yet nuanced and always inventive with Chaos Engine the instrumental rock trio. Chaos Engine’s Sandro Ghiotto and Sasha Radov joined by Nathan ‘Floods’ Winterflood recreated Pranjal’s rhythms on the drums.
Dr Margaret Gollagher, an eminent Keyboardist, stated, my dearest friend great Dr Bora was a fearless musical genius. Pranjal Bora's wife Papori Barua who was also involved in organising the event thanks all his friends for the tribute to her husband Pranjal Bora and expresses get gratitude.
