Ace composer and playback-singer Vishal Dadlani, who has been at the forefront of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the nationwide National Register of Citizens (NRC), has stated that the communal divide in the nation can be mended by adopting the "secular" Indian Constitution as one's religion.
Taking to Twitter, the ace composer wrote, "together, India will win! May our secular Constitution be our religion. Shaheen Bagh se lekar Azad Maidan tak, aur Hindustan se lekar saare jahaan tak....say Jai Hind!"
In another tweet, Dadlani lauded the people protesting against the CAA at Shaheen Bagh, which reportedly saw a turn-out of around 1.5 lakh.
It may be recalled that Dadlani recently extended his support to the people of Assam, calling them the "leaders" of the movement in India, although he lamented that the people in the national media are not yet aware of Assam's struggle.

Taking to Twitter, Dadlani wrote, “Assam, we hear you, we see you, we stand as one with you. What you have been through with the failed NRC makes the entire Nations fight against CAA and NRC stronger.”
“You are leading India, even if the mainstream media hasn’t realised it yet. Joi Ai Axom, my friends”, Dadlani further added, signalling his salute to the Assamese motherland via the popular slogan ‘Joi Aai Axom’ (glory to mother Assam).
It may be mentioned that the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act by the BJP party sparked nationwide protests, as it marked the first time that citizenship had been granted in India on the basis of religion. Union Minister Amit Shah’s recent announcement of a nationwide NRC has also been met with similar resistance.
