New Delhi, January 9, 2020:

A Delhi court on Thursday directed the makers of the upcoming Deepika Padukone-starrer film “Chhapaak” to give due credits to advocate Aparna Bhatt for her contribution in the making of the film by providing the actual footage and the images.

The order was passed by Additional Senior Civil Judge Dr. Pankaj Sharma who directed Director Meghna Gulzar and the makers of the film to mention Aparna Bhatt’s name in the credit roll.

The development took place after a complaint was filed by lawyer Aparna Bhatt against the filmmakers of “Chhapaak” seeking an interim injunction claiming that she has not been given due credit for her work.

It has been reported that the makers of the film, despite acknowledging her work and assurance, had not given her due credit.

In its order, the court stated, “This court is of the considered view that facts are indicative that the pique of the plaintiff for an interim injunction is well-founded and it is necessary that her contribution is acknowledged by providing the actual footage and the images.”

It has also asked the makers to include the line “Aparna Bhatt continues to fight the cases of sexual and physical violence against women” during the screening of the film. The said line on screen maybe with a rider that the same is with the court order, the judge added.

The film “Chhappak” is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by her as well as Deepika Padukone in collaboration with Fox Star Studios.
