Great news for Indian cinema buffs as Bollywood is all set to join up with Hollywood in acclaimed Director Christopher Nolan's next. Yes, you heard right! Dimple Kapadia, the veteran Bollywood actress has been announced as one of the cast members of the 'Dark Knight' director's Director's next venture called 'Tenet', which has been described as an "action epic evolving from the world of international espionage".
In the movie, Kapadia will be joined by seasoned Hollywood actors such as Robert Pattinson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, Clemence Poesy and Michael Caine. The film will be set in seven countries. The plot is currently unknown and the project is described as an "event film".
Meanwhile, Bollywood stars have come forward to congratulate Kapadia on this amazing achievement. Taking to Twitter, Anil Kapoor wrote: "Phenomenal # dimple Kapadia."
Producer Guneet Monga also come forward and said that she is ‘so so proud’ of Kapadia's achievement.
Many Nolan fans from India also celebrated the inclusion of Kapadia in Nolan's much awaited film. User Arjun Loveable expressed his surprise at the news and simply wrote "Dimple Kapadia to star in a nolan movie....wow."
Whereas, verified user Akshaye Rathi wrote: "W O W! Now this is serious! data-query-source="hashtag_click">#DimpleKapadia"
It may be mentioned that this is not the only time that Kapadia has been cast in an English-language movie. Kapadia was acclaimed for the title role in the American production Leela (2002).
Kapadia is known for her performances in films such as Rudaali (which earned her a National Film Award for Best Actress), Gardish, Krantiveer, Dil Chahta Hai, Being Cyrus, Finding Fanny and others.
'Tenet' is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17 next year.
