MUMBAI: Actress Sunny Leone has refuted cheating charges against her, saying that half-baked data is as dangerous as misreporting.

On her part, she has alleged lack of timely payment in the concerned deal.

Sunny was questioned by Kerala Police last week, after a complaint of financial fraud filed by an events manager in Kochi, Kerela.

R.Shiyas, the event manager who conducts events in and around Kochi has accused Sunny Leone of taking Rs 29 lakh from him and promising to attend two events but failed to attend.

She has now accused the organizer of the events of disclosing incorrect information and hopes the law will take its course.

Sunny Leone said that as an artist, work is worship for her. She was nothing but gracious, understanding even moved her schedule multiple times over the organisers. It is customary that an advance needs to be paid upfront to lock down an actor's time, which was not achieved until the nth hour, she continued.

"There is no possibility that if I set a date and time for an event, and I wouldn't show up. I bowed out because of the lack of timely payment from their end, combined with the fact that they dilly-dallied on the date finalized,” she further said.

Adding, such slanderous claims and unethical actions on part of the event co-ordinators are hurtful and unsolicited, she said, “I have already provided the investigating officers with the statement and they are investigating the co-ordinators as well. Let law take its course," she said.

According to a source, the event was constantly being rescheduled, eventually clashing with her other work engagements.

Moreover, the fees have never been paid in full. Rs 12.50 lakh is yet to be cleared, which was to be paid seven days before the event as per the agreement. However, if it matches her schedule, she has graciously agreed to attend the event.
