Hollywood Actor John Cusack Compares PM Modi to Adolf Hitler

New Delhi, January 8, 2019:

Internationally-renowned Hollywood actor John Cusack has stoked the fires of controversy after a recent social media post comparing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Nazi dictator, Adolf Hitler.

Taking to Twitter, the 'Serendipity' actor posted a picture of Hitler alongside India's current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. In the picture, both the leaders can be seen wearing similar clothes. Although Cusack did not post any caption, the picture was apparently seen to be linking the Indian BJP leader with Hitler, who is responsible for starting World War II and exterminating 6 million Jews.

Hitler, who was the leader of the Nazi party, rose to the rank of chancellor of Germany in 1933, and as Führer in 1934. During his dictatorship from 1933 to 1945, he initiated World War II in Europe by invading Poland on September 1, 1939.

Meanwhile, the Indian Prime Minister has come under fire for passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill that seek to give citizenship to non-Muslims from neighboring countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. This Act is seen discriminatory as it excludes Muslims, and is thus seen as a direct violation of the Indian Constitution, which has 'secularism' as its core tenets.

Reacting to this post, Twitterati wasted no time in trolling the Indian Prime Minister. One user wrote: "What gave it away? The shorts or the pact with the devil?"", while another wrote, "In an recent speech modi said "people can be identified by their clothes." Yup for once I agree."
