Borpomua Gaon in Jengraimukh of Majuli Island in Assam will host the river island's first musical show from 15 November to 17 November. With a vision to promote rural tourism, uplift the local community and make Majuli self sufficient, the Majuli Music festival has been organized to provide enthusiasts a plethora of experiences through music, art, culture, food and the local beer.

With the theme of 'Music For Change', the festival will promote the exchanging of cultures and making new friends from across India and the globe. Everything amidst the stunning natural beauty of the island...around refreshing greenery, by the side of river Brahmaputra and under a open sky!
The team Majuli's stated goal is to "bring all artists on to one stage irrespective of any genres of music and exchange ideas and culture".

The line-up will feature an eclectic variety of artists such as When Chai Met Toast, Rain In Sahara, Shanku and Project Bartalaap, Abhi Saikia, Nilotpal Bora, Fuzz Culture, Folkswagon, Alobo Naga, and Island Warrior.
Majuli, which is the largest inhabited river island in the world, is generally considered the cultural nerve-centre of the Northeast Indian state of Assam. The picturesque island is famous for its raw, uninhibited tribal culture and is home to communities such as the Mising (Miri), Deoris, Sonowal Kachari and Nepalis.
Majuli was formally declared the first Island district of India on 8th September 2016.
