Adding to the cheer and good vibes at the turn of the year, heroes of heavy metal 'As I Lay Dying' are all set to bring their hard-hitting tunes to Guwahati city of Assam in January, 2020.

As per initial reports, the quintet will play at the 'Fireball' concert on January 12, at the Greenwood Resort located in Khanapara on the outskirts of the buzzing metropolis.

As one of the premier metal bands, with a slew of hit albums on the Billboard Charts, 'As I Lay Dying' have truly entered the metal-loving public's consciousness with their fourth studio effort  An Ocean Between Us, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 charts, and No. 1 on the Top Rock chart. Their latest release is 'Shaped by Fire', which was released on September 20, 2019.

The band has performed at events such as Wacken Open Air, With Full Force, Soundwave Festival, Sounds of the Underground, Warped Tour, Bloodstock Open Air and Taste of Chaos. In 2007, As I Lay Dying won the "Ultimate Metal God" award from MTV2.

History:

Vocalist Tim Lambesis formed As I Lay Dying in 2000. Starting out as a duet with drummer Jordan Mancino, they first met as a band in February 2001. They both were in the hardcore punk band Point of Recognition.

The band's derives its name from the classic novel of the same name by William Faulkner that was published in 1930; although the band's lyrics and music are not directly inspired by the novel.
