MUMBAI: Singer Neha Kakkar has come forward to help cash-strapped veteran Bollywood lyricist veteran Santosh Anand.
The 32-year-old Kakkar will donate Rs 5 lakh to the veteran lyricist during an episode of Indian Idol 12 where the lyricist speaks of how he is struggling with a tough financial crisis and has incurred debts.
Kakkar is a judge on the show and Anand will visit as a guest with musician Pyarelal of the legendary composer tandem of Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
The two had worked with Anand in classics such as Prem Rog, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, and Shor in the past.

"I would like to give you Rs 5 lakh as a small gesture and would also like to request the Indian entertainment industry to give Santosh Ji some work as he has been such a crucial part of our industry. It's our duty to help our colleagues in their bad times," Neha Kakkar says emotionally in the episode.
Her co-judge, composer Vishal Dadlani, asks Anand to share a few of his songs with him. Vishal will help Anand release the songs.
Neha Kakkar is an extremely emotional person and she is very proud of the fact.
