“Okhrang-the Sky” is carving a niche.

The theatre group from Baksa, "Okhrang-the Sky” is on a mission to popularize modern drama. Founded in May, 2015, the group seeks to underscore burning issues of the time in a satirical way.

It uses a mix of what it is known as ‘experimental play’ and popular entertainment. Ever since its formation by M Okhrang, the theatre group took it upon itself to popularise modern Bodo theatre.

Okhrang-the Sky does neither have a permanent team nor any fixed scripts. The language, used in the plays, is not always Bodo for the issues dealt with are invariably universal. The issues are often unemployment, hypocrisy in the society, loss of dignity, empty promises of leaders etc.

The first play of Okhrang-the Sky was “Who are we”, which was staged on June 19, 2015 at the Rabindra Bhawan in Guwahati.
