MUMBAI: "Raahgir," directed by Goutam Ghose and starring Adil Hussain and Tillotama Shome has won four awards at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival.

The film won awards for best feature film, best director for Ghose, best female actor for Shome, and best male actor for Hussain, according to the film's producers.

"We are glad to announce that team #Raahgir wins top awards at DCSAFF - Washington DC South Asian Film Festival," the film''s official Facebook page posted.

The festival, which showcases South Asian alternative and independent cinema, took place from August 28 to August 29, 2021.

Congratulating the whole team on their achievement, actress Shome took to Twitter and wrote,"Thank you

Worth mentioning is that In June of this year, "Raahgir" has also won two awards at the prestigious UK Asian Film Festival 2021, with Ghose named best director and Shome named best female actor.

Raahgir, based on a short story by Prafulla Roy, is a story about three strangers who meet on their way and form a bond based solely on their kindness and willingness to forego their own basic needs in order to save human lives.

The film emphasises the importance of human relationships and how humanity can survive even in difficult circumstances.
