Ranu Mondal Lookalike Discovered Near Maligaon Railway Station in Assam

In a sensational development, a 'doppelganger' of Bengali crooner Ranu Mondal, has been discovered near the Maligaon railway station in Guwahati city of Assam.

In a video shared by Instagram user Dipankar Baishya, a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to Ranu Mondal is seen singing Ranu’s song ‘Teri Meri Kahani’, which is her first recording for a Bollywood film.

In the video that is spreading like wildfire in many social media groups in Assam and beyond, locals can be heard egging on the local woman to sing the famous tune, and after hesitating for a while, the coy Ranu Mondal doppelganger eventually obliges and breaks into song, much to the thrill of those gathered.

It may be mentioned that Ranu, who made national headlines after a rendition of her singing a Lata Mangeshkar retro-hit, continues to stay alive in the national consciousness with a string of controversies.

The queen of controversies, Ranu, recently stole the headlines after a video of her refusing to take a selfie with a fan, and scolding the said fan for tapping her on the shoulder, went viral. Later, the crooner from the Ranaghat Railway Station scolded the media for asking her about the afore-mentioned incident.

Later, Ranu again stole the limelight after pictures where she had put on make-up for a fashion show went viral. She was also spotted 'walking the ramp' alongside the designer. However, trolls later tore Ranu apart over her 'make-up' avatar. It was later revealed that the pictures were 'touched up' with the intention to malign the image of the nightingale from the Ranaghat Railway Station, Ranu Mondal.
