In less than 24 hours, the romantic duet, which has been heavily teased by Reshammiya on social media, has accrued almost 4 million hits.
Himesh's playback sounds heavily auto-tuned, which is a common fad among musicians these days. In contrast, Mondal's voice sounds almost ethereal.
Ranu Mondal was first spotted singing Lata Mangeshkar’s song Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai at the Ranaghat station in West Bengal.
During the recording of the video, Himesh Reshammiya shared a short video of Ranu Mondal recording the song titled ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ in her soothing voice.
Himesh shared the video with the caption, “Recorded Teri Meri Kahani my new song from happy hardy and heer with the very talented ranu mondal who has a divine voice, all your our dreams can come true if we have the courage to peruse them, a positive attitude can really make dreams come true, thanks for all your love and support.”
The Instagram post went wildly viral, and soon found its way to TikTok, where users made their own interpretation of the song.
Ranu Mondal who hails from Nadia district of West Bengal is also known as the ‘Lata of Ranaghat’. She was first spotted in a video shared by Atindra Chakraborty, a 26-year old engineer. She was heard singing a Mohammed Rafi song at Ranaghat station.
Ranu, thereafter, sang Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai, and Atindra recorded it on his phone. He shared it on Facebook that went viral.
