After Himesh Reshammiya, it seems like it is Salman Khan's turn to be awestruck by the talent of songstress Ranu Mondal. According to reports, Sallu Bhai has reportedly gifted a house to the 'nightingale of Ranaghat'. The price of the house? A whopping Rs. 55 lakhs!

Mondal first caught the fancy of the nation after a video of her singing Lata Mangheshkar's immortal tune, 'Ek Pyar ka Nagma Hai' at West Bengal's Ranaghat Railway Station went viral in social media circles. The humble-looking lady draped in a a sari sang the retro classic in such a soothing cadence that the entire nation was left asking a single question: "who is this railway station phenomenon, Ranu Mondal?"

That question was answered soon enough as acclaimed music director Himesh Reshammiya soon brought her into the mainstream by signing her up for playback singing in his latest. The song, 'Teri Meri', sung by the duo, became an instant internet sensation (and also inspired numerous spoofs on TikTok, but that is a story for another time).

According to Jagran, the 'Ek Tha Tiger' actor was so impressed with Ranu's melodious voice that he decided to gift her a house, as a gesture of generosity. However, Khan is yet to confirm the report. It may be mentioned here that Khan and Reshammiya, Mondal's 'mentor' on Bollywood, share a close rapport (with Himesh having scored a number of Salman Khan-starring tentpoles, beginning with 'Tere Naam').

It seems like the fortunes of this recently discovered-talent are on the upswing, and we cannot wait to see what she does next!
