In an ancient-seeming video, Salman says that he will not pick up the awards because the awards are hosted by Filmfare, a magazine that sells on the starpower of Salman and others of his ilk.

"I think the people who don't have confidence in themselves want awards. I won't go up and pick Filmfare or any stupid award. National Award mile toh that's prestigious. That I'll go and pick", Salman said, adding that the awards are used as a platform to market harmful products such as Manikchand and Pan Parag Pan Masalas.

In another old video that has resurfaced online, Salman Khan says that he has no problem if the stars are profiting due to nominations. However, he laments that only one star wins the award while the others return empty-handed. In such a scenarioo, the organizers are the only ones who profit from advertisements and other promotional materials, says Salman.
