In a massive development in the Sushant Singh Rajput case and the ‘drug angle’ probe linked to it, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), on Friday, arrested Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda.
Deputy director KPS Malhotra of the NCB said, “We have informed Showik and Samuel Miranda’s family and both have been arrested under several sections of NDPS act”.
This development comes minutes after Showik allegedly confessed that he had allegedly procured drugs on the instructions of his sister - actor Rhea Chakraborty.
Moreover, Showik further claimed that Rhea had allegedly asked him and Sushant's ex-house manager Samuel Miranda to procure drugs adding that he was allegedly in contact with several other drug peddlers, as per NCB sources. Showik and Miranda's arrests are in addition to the arrests of three others - Basit Parihar, Kaizan Ibraham, and Zaid.
An analysis of Showik’s chats revealed that on March 17, 2020, he shared Vilatra’s contact number with Samuel Miranda and asked to pay him Rs 10,000 for 5gms of drugs. Thereafter, Miranda contacted Vilatra for the first time on Showik’s behest, NCB officials added.
On Friday morning, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s house.
The NCB team further went on to search the residence of Samuel Miranda in connection with the drugs probe linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
After the arrest, fans and well-wishers of Sushant who have been fighting for justice since day 1 have expressed their feelings.
