Assam State Film (Finance & Development) Corporation (AFFDC) on Wednesday announced to provide Rs 50 lakhs to Assamese film director Rima Das, for her new movie, "Purno Chandra".
The announcement was made by Jatin Bora, AFFDC chairman cum actor of the film industry.
Making the announcement, Jatin Bora said that the government of Assam has approved the ‘film subsidiary rules’ to financially help the producers and directors in the state, including documentary, short films, and animation films within its fold.

As per the new rule, the government will provide up to Rs 25 lakh to a full-length movie or a child movie. Depending on the length and other aspects, an animation movie can also receive a maximum subsidy of Rs 25 lakh from the government. If a movie gets national prize then they get all the money return and if it goes to Oscar then they get Rs. 2 crores. Most important is every artist gets the provident fund.
