One of the most famous icons of the Indian film industry, Rajinikanth, has been admitted to a hospital of the Apollo Group in Hyderabad on Friday after his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations.
The actor tested negative for coronavirus on December 22.
Reportedly, The hospital said he is being monitored closely.
The hospital informed that Rajinikanth has so far not shown any symptoms of COVID-19.
"His blood pressure showed several fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital. He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged," a statement by the hospital said.
He is also hemodynamically stable.
Rajinikanth was shooting for a Tamil movie Annaatthe, in which he will essay the role of a caring brother. Keerthy Suresh has been roped in as his on-screen sister.
The shoot was stopped after eight crew members tested COVID-19 positive.
