Rima Das’ “Village Rockstar” is sending ripples. The film has been well-received by viewers across the country.

The film was released at over 37 theatres in Assam. According to reports, Anuska and Varun-starrer “Sui Dhaga’s” back to back shows were cancelled for the screening of Village Rockstar.

Ranjan Sharma, 52, said, “One of the best movies I have ever seen in the industry”.

The Assamese film, which was written, directed and produced by Das, is set in Assam’s Chhaygaon where the filmmaker hails from. The movie tells us the story of a girl (Dhunu, played by Bhanita Das) who is rebellious and ambitious and dreams of owning a guitar someday.

Speaking to InsideNE, Das said, “This is one of the happiest moments of my life. The people of Assam have accepted the film so well. The theatres have also increased the screening of the film”.
