Zubeen’s second directorial Assamese movie Kanchanjangha continues to sweep the box office and is soon to surpass India’s highest grossing movie ever, Bahubali-2 The Conclusion, in the northeastern state.
The movie has been running across six cities in India and it has earned over five crores in total. In Assam, the Zubeen-starrer has collected more than Rs. 4.95 Crore.
While speaking with Inside Northeast, Garima Garg, Co-Producer of Kanchanjangha, said, “We are hopeful to cross the collection of Bahubali-2 in Assam. Till now, Kanchanjangha has earned more than Rs. 4.95 lakh in our home state. If we manage to earn Rs. 15 lakh, we will be able to earn more than S.S. Rajamouli's Bahubali-2.”

It is to be mentioned here that the movie had set the cash registers ringing in Assam after its first day of release. It had managed to register a hefty sum of Rs 40 lakh on Day 1 of its release and within three days, Kanchanjangha was able to sweep over a crore.
The latest figures suggest that the Zubeen-directed movie is still ruling the box office. Kanchanjangha has turned out to be the highest grossing Assamese movie of all time.
Kanchanjangha has been able to attract the audience with its youth-oriented story and issues. It has been able to relate with youngsters and their issues.
Produced by Zubeen Garg and his wife Garima Garg, the movie centers round Anirban who goes through ups and downs in pursuit of his dreams.
