Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher breaks down at Satish Kaushik's birth anniversary

Anupam Kher held a special celebration for Satish Kaushik's 67th birthday, which was attended by numerous celebrities. The musical event, called 'Satish Kaushik Night,' also featured his friends and family affectionately remembering the late actor. Fans broke down to tears when they saw Kaushik's daughter Vanshika read a letter to her father in which she expressed how much she misses him every day. And now, a video from the occasion has gone viral on social media, in which Anil Kapoor is seen tearing down when Anupam Kher invites him to the stage.

Anupam Kher begins the video by addressing the audience about his most last conversation with Satish Kaushik. Midway through, he invites Anil Kapoor. The actor walks down the steps, initially reluctant, only to break down and return to his seat. Anil, overcome with emotion, refuses to accompany Kher and requests that his buddy continue without him. When he sees him in this state, Anupam Kher breaks down and rebukes him for making him emotional.

“Come, Anil. Heroes always cry and friends cry. Come,” Anupam tells him, before the Thar actor breaks down. He then says, “Anil tu pagal hai. Main theek thaak jaa raha tha (Anil you are mad. I was managing well).”

Anil Kapoor was not in the country when Kaushik died. Later at the same occasion, he revealed that Satish Kaushik was ill throughout the filming of their last film together, Thar (2022).

The actor shared how he would advise Kaushik to take rest and come to shoot only when he feels well: “When we were shooting for Thar, I could feel that he was not well. I was so emotionally attached to him. I used to tell him, ‘You come at your convenience. You should relax, and take a break.’ He would tell me he is feeling acidic, and I always told him to take his time.”
