Men in Black: Shah Rukh Khan dazzles in Locarno Film Festival

When Shah Rukh Khan is at an event, it's almost impossible for fans to stay calm. At the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, where Shah Rukh Khan received a career achievement honor, the atmosphere was electric. NDTV exclusively captured the scene, showing fans chanting his name with unbridled enthusiasm. Eager fans waited with bated breath to catch a glimpse of the superstar, and when he finally appeared, the excitement hit its peak. The crowd surged forward, hoping to touch him or snap a picture. Shah Rukh Khan, donning an all-black outfit, greeted his fans with a broad smile, shaking hands as he made his way through.

Upon receiving the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude before an audience of 8,000 people. He said, "Thank you all for welcoming me with such wide arms - wider than the ones I do on screen," referencing his iconic pose.

Reflecting on cinema and creativity, Shah Rukh Khan stated, "I truly believe cinema has been the most profound and influential artistic medium of our age. I've had the privilege of being part of this for many years, and this journey has taught me a few lessons."

He continued, "Art is the act of affirming life above all. It goes beyond every man-made boundary into a space of liberation. It need not be political. It need not be polemical. It need not sermonize. It need not intellectualize. It need not moralize. Art and cinema only need to say what it feels from the heart, to express its own truth. And that, to me, is the biggest creativity, honestly."

The Locarno Film Festival, established in 1946, is one of the world's oldest annual film festivals. This year, it is screening 225 films, including 104 world premieres and 15 debut movies. Shah Rukh Khan made a stellar comeback last year with three major releases. He kicked off the year with Pathaan, followed by Jawan, one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. He concluded the year with Dunki, marking his first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani.
