Actor Poonam Pandey, known for her appearances in reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi and Lock Upp, visited the Maha Kumbh 2025 on the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya and took a holy dip in the Ganges. She shared her experience through photos and videos on Instagram, reflecting on the deep faith and devotion she witnessed.
Pandey posted a picture of herself taking the dip on her Instagram story, captioning it, "Sab paap dhul gaye mere (All my sins have been washed)." She also shared a detailed post, writing, "Mahakumbh...Witnessing life up close, where a 70-year-old walks barefoot for hours, where faith knows no limits. Feeling deeply for those who lost their lives, hoping they find moksh. The devotion here has left me speechless..."
She joins other celebrities, including choreographer and director Remo D'Souza, filmmaker Kabir Khan, veteran actor Hema Malini, and model-actor Milind Soman, who have also attended the Maha Kumbh and participated in the ritualistic dip.
Poonam Pandey previously made headlines in 2023 when she faked her death, with her team announcing that she had succumbed to cervical cancer. She later clarified that it was a publicity stunt aimed at raising awareness about cervical cancer and promoting an anti-HPV vaccine. The move sparked widespread criticism and debate over ethical promotional tactics.
