Salman Khan shields Mumbai home with bulletproof glass and Y-Plus security amid threats

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has taken significant steps to ensure his safety following the rising threats from criminal elements, particularly the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The 59-year-old actor has fortified his Mumbai residence, Galaxy Apartments, with advanced security measures, including bulletproof glass and electric fencing. The upgraded security comes in the wake of several alarming incidents, most notably the murder of his close friend and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.

Pictures of the upgraded security were shared on social media, revealing Salman’s house now shielded with blue-colored bulletproof glass. Workers were seen installing the protective glass at the actor’s residence, a clear indication of the heightened precautions being taken. The addition of electric fencing further boosts the security around the property.

Salman Khan, who has been a prominent figure in Indian cinema for decades, has been under threat for years, especially due to his involvement in the controversial 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously targeted the actor over this case, remains a serious threat. These escalating tensions have prompted Salman to take such drastic measures to protect himself and his family.

In response to these threats, Salman Khan has been granted Y-plus security, which includes personal protection from a team of highly trained police personnel. Along with his increased security detail, Salman now travels with a police escort vehicle to ensure his safety while on the move.

A dedicated constable, trained in handling all kinds of weapons, has been assigned to protect the actor. These measures reflect the level of security the actor now requires, given the repeated attempts on his life and the persistent threats he faces.

The security boost extends beyond his Mumbai home. Salman Khan's farmhouse in Panvel, located in Maharashtra, has also seen an upgrade in security. This property, which has long been a retreat for the actor, is now under heightened surveillance, ensuring his safety during personal visits.

In April 2024, Salman Khan’s residence became the target of gunmen who fired multiple shots at the house before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but it served as a grim reminder of the danger the actor faces from criminal elements. The attack was allegedly linked to the ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously made its intentions known through a series of intimidating actions.
